Dan J.Bilzi is the best for Mac service/repair. I made the mistake of taking my MacAir somewhere else first and they kept telling me my hard drive was bad, Airs don't have hard drives I kept telling them. They wanted $300-$500 for me to send it off for repair.

I am an author and write a detective mystery series. I had been writing when my Mac had prompted me to install the High Sierra update. I don't usually install an update without checking to see what it is but for some reason, this time I did. The next morning I was eager to get back to work on my book and started my computer. When that dreaded grey bar got stuck, I didn't panic, I just did a forced shutdown and tried again. As you can probably imagine, it wouldn't boot. Now I was getting concerned. I went on my iPad and started looking for fixes. Step by step, I attempted to reboot with no luck. Did I panic? Not yet, but I decided that it was time to bring in the big guns and I called AppleCare, only to be told by the representative that I had already tried everything he was going to walk me through and he'd have to connect me with his supervisor. YIKES! After going through the steps that I had taken, he calmly told me I'd need a specialist. I was referred to Steve at Bilzi Mac and all I can say is thank goodness! When everyone else told me that there was no chance of recovering my files, Steve was a calming force for me. I am happy to report that Steve rescued every chapter! Yes, he found 43 chapters of my book and I am so very grateful for all his hard work. He has gone above and beyond, even purchasing and learning how to use the writing program in order to locate my files. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of an exam at my doctor's office. Steve called back at around 8:00 PM that evening. Rhonda R.I allowed 3 other techs to try to repair some issues with my Mac Mini. I had some serious problems. The other 3 companies messed up my computer even WORSE. I run a small business from my home & need my computer to run it. I ended up having to buy a new computer. I'm so glad I went with Bilzi Mac; I was impressed by how quickly they could repair my laptop! They had the parts in stock, I dropped it off early afternoon, and I picked it up before they closed that same day. They helped me get back to work fast. I was also really happy with my experience in speaking with them over email and in person. I emailing them beforehand—polite, informative emails without being too pushy to sell their services or anything. Hunter FordI had a good experience with the husband and wife duo that owns Bilzi Mac repair. I bought a used Macbook Air in August and 2 months later I bought a used iMac desktop. The laptop had a broken piece of plastic on the sleeve that covers the hinge that keeps the monitor/screen fastened to the base of the laptop. A couple months after using the laptop, the hinge broke below the plastic sleeve and needed to be repaired. I brought it back to them and they told me it was not uncommon for that type of machine to break in that spot. All computers have a weak spot and that's it on the Air. It cost 200.00 to repair the hinges on the monitor/screen and the base. I paid without asking questions even though I felt like it should have been covered b/c it had damage to that area when I bought it. I should have had them pull the machine apart and look at it in front of me when I purchased it to make sure there was no potential damage to the hinge.
When I picked it up, the repair seemed perfect. The machine open and closed like normal and looked good. 5 days after I started using the machine again it began to crack on the sleeve in the same spot. I brought the machine to their shop the next day and they offered to buy it back. The owner gave me a full refund for what I spent without any hassle. This doesn't happen anymore it seems like. I feel like it was the right thing for them to do and they offered it without me having to ask. I greatly appreciate their good business. I own a small business myself and understand the value in a happy customer when something out of the customers hands goes wrong. My used desktop that I also bought from them works great! If I need another used Mac, I will buy from them again. If I have a need for any repairs, Ill have them repair it. I never write reviews. It seemed appropriate for this situation to show potential customers for purchase or repair that they are good people that care about their customers. Thank you Sue. |

A Google UserI am extremely satisfied with Bilzi Mac! I mistakenly deleted important family text messages from my iPad Air 2, and Steve was able to retrieve all of them. He even made a CD containing these messages which will make it very easy for me to transfer the ones I need to our family archives. He called several times to ask questions or clarify things, and to keep me informed of the steps he needed to take to correctly access what he needed--temporary passwords, phone numbers, etc. When I came to pick up my iPad, Steve took time to show me what was on the CD. I also had several general questions about my iPad, which he answered at length. The customer service rendered by Steve and Sue is exceptional. The repair was done in a very timely manner. Steve has some interesting stories to tell and Sue is so very pleasant and engaging. The store dogs are friendly but not overly so. I would not hesitate to recommend Bilzi Mac. Steve's many years of experience are a real plus in solving problems. Hopefully I won't ever need them again but if I do, I will head straight to the store on Oleande

Del JubaIf your Mac is ailing bring it to Bilzi! The Macbook Pro that I use for work wouldn't boot. I tried all the shade tree computer mechanic tricks found online to no avail. My company's remote IT guy couldn't help either. Brought it to Bilzi first thing Monday and the tech, Dwayne, had it humming by the end of the day. No upselling here. Everything about the $600 Asus (after geeksquad protection, etc.) just felt clunky and cheap. After a long day of being stuck in traffic around the UNCW area scavenging for used computers, I took the plunge...I bought a used 2009 MacBook Pro from Bilzi...And the story doesn't end here...
I threw a styrofoam box of chinese food on top of the laptop (don't try this), and ran into the house with excitement only to find a nice film of fluid all over my large purchase. I wiped it down and immediately rushed back to Bilzi. Within 30min. - 1Hr they replaced the screen (was to be replaced anyways at a later date) and did some nano-speed trouble shooting and saving. These guys did not have to do this! Considering I had not purchased drop/spill protection...and the quick speed at which they rescued my investment , I am sitting in my house wondering why did I buy a used computer from 2009? Well, let's just say...convenience, my impulsive nature, and the homey-feel of walking into a local business far removed from the corporate big-box stores and speaking to individuals that have quite a bit of knowledge about Apple products and are willing to share that knowledge. And what's even nicer is I can stick a Solid State Drive into this baby and BAM...I've got a computer that will feel even fresher! |

He was able to establish solid communications between our IMacs and the PC Server. This was one of our weakest links within the system, and Steve resolved it. For the past 30 days, we have not had any issue of being dropped, our systems open each morning quickly and without any mishap, our speed of operation has never been this fast, and all unnecessary popups are gone. We are thrilled and the increased efficiency that Steve has provided us is unmeasurable and much appreciated! She is taking summer classes online, and the laptop contains all of her Thesis Research, as well as her Fullbright Application (AND it was not backed up- separate story about someone so smart being so dumb as to not back up! But I digress....) Sue was fantastic- not only did they get the laptop up and running, they fully updated it, and even performed a full back up onto a separate hard drive I provided, at no extra charge! The laptop had display problems, and the iMac was locking up for an unknown reason. Found Bilzi Mac after hearing about them on the radio. The laptop was repaired in one day! The iMac had an overnight stay and came back good as new! Both repairs were properly diagnosed the first time and repair costs were extraordinarily reasonable! Terry E.Thanks to great reviews online and from business associates I located this business! I have a MacBook Pro 2009 and needed a new battery. I had previously had a frustrating experience with XXXX XXX (deleted by Bilzi), who "required" a 2 day diagnostic that cost $49.00 and of course, came back stating that I needed a new battery...which I already knew. Then they informed me that they would have to order the battery which would mean that I would have to leave the computer with them another 3 days. After taking the computer back I did more research and found Bilzi. I dropped in without an appointment and they were great....replaced the battery within 15 minutes

Steve and Sue are of the highest integrity and have helped me troubleshoot a couple of problems over the phone already rather than requiring coming out for an on-site repair (Time Capsule related). I had gone to B*** B** because I had water damage to my Macbook Pro...I was basically told that my motherboard was destroyed and that it would cost as much as a new computer to be fixed. Completely disappointed, I had given up hope. My boyfriend however, had not. He looked these guys up and saw their reviews, told me to give it a try. I am so grateful that I did give them a try. Sue calmed me down and reassured me that they would try everything to fix my computer. It was fixed and working like new for a very, very reasonable price. Thank you so much!!! I would definitely recommend anyone with a Mac to come here over anywhere else in Wilmington.

I went to Bilzi and was really impressed by the honesty and kindness of Sue. She was so helpful and gave me some really great suggestions. I purchased a used MacBook Pro and they transferred my programs over. The very next day it was ready to go. They were very fair in their price, I felt right off the bat like we were family. Oh and the four legged welcome committee was awesome. I highly recommend this business to any Mac owners. I will only use them for my Mac computer needs!!

In the midst of the "stay at home order" I managed to drop my Mac and break the dongle off in the port. Would have put a terrible damper on some activites I had planned. Called Bilzi, got a warm invite to bring it in, found smiling owners, clearly observing CDC protocols - and within minutes the owner had pulled out the stuck piece and put my machine back in working order. The charge: 0 AND I got a big smile. These people are wonderful and after 2 visits have reinvented my views of Mac service. They are friendly, reliable, competent, and reasonably priced - all at the 5 star level. So grateful to have found them. |
